trkwin.stp
------------
Use this template to create a trkwin newspaper picture that will display from any location on your track. This template includes the border used by all N2003 trkwin files. It also includes both a Winston Cup title or a Busch Grand National title instead of the "Nascar Racing Series" title the stock tracks use. There is a shadow layer included for the car when it is displayed in the newspaper. The next two things should not show up in your file but are available for informational purposes. There is a yellow line to show where the text will end that describes who one the race. There is a car that will show you how and where the winning car will show up on your picture.

Now on to creating your background image. You can use a picture from anywhere on your track fairly easily using the Camera Control Master (CCM) tool by Peter van der Burg which can be downloaded at his site GPLForever: http://www.buli.demon.nl/gplforever/. I included a file called trkwin.cmf which has the values for the camera so it is in the same position the winning car displays in the newspaper.

1. Load the trkwin.cmf file in camera control master and leave it running in the background.

2. Load N2003 and go to your track in testing session.

3. Drive to the location you want the newspaper picture to be at, hit esc, and view replay.

4. Stop the replay at the point your car is where you want it to be at.

5. Switch the replay to the roof cam and press Ctrl+3 to activate the camera set.

6. If you need to adjust the cars position you can go back on the track and move.

7. When you get it the way you want it, switch the car the camera follows to none and rewind it to a point when your car wasn't in the picture.

8. Take the screen shot and exit the game.

9. Put the screen shot in as the back layer of the template and move it around until you have it so the car in the template is in the same place as your car was in the game.

Remember that the car should not be displayed in the stp file because the game displays the winning car on top of the picture but it dose not display the shadow. A screenshot of one I did for Daytona can be found here: http://www.geocities.com/brianz111/nascar2003/editing/stp_templates.htm. You can also drop any picture you want in as the back layer of this template if you don't want an image from your track.
